Gini Rosandick Orchestra Scholarship Fund

Background

This scholarship was created by the senior orchestra students from the Class of 2009 as their senior gift to Mrs. Rosandick. Gini Rosandick has taught at CHS since 1995 and is a product of Caldwell schools and the Caldwell orchestra program. Mrs. Rosandick was in the first beginning string class taught in the Caldwell school district in 1965.

Criteria

  • Completed Application

  • Graduating Senior of Caldwell High School

  • String student currently enrolled in an orchestra class at Caldwell High School

  • Must demonstrate character, dedication, hard work, participation and leadership in the CHS String program.

  • Applied to and have been accepted by institution of higher learning

  • Student must have definitive plans to continue musical study at college/university level

  • Show a passion and talent as an accomplished musician, enrolled in Advanced Orchestra courses, auditioned for Youth Symphony, All-State, or All-Northwest Honor groups

  • Participated in a variety of orchestra courses and activities such as Sinfonia, Symphonic Orchestra, Chamber Players, District Solo and Ensemble Festival, Retreat, Youth Symphony and/or Pit Orchestra

  • Demonstrated service through mentoring of current members of the Caldwell string program. Examples include: teaching other students outside of class time, acting as section leader with small groups, assisting an orchestra at another Caldwell school, and

  • Submitted one (1) Letter of Recommendation from a faculty member at Caldwell High School other than the current orchestra teacher. This letter should highlight the student’s character and work ethic.

  • Transcript and ACT and/or SAT scores
