Canyon Springs High School Scholarship Fund

Background

This fund was established to offer Canyon Springs High School students financial encouragement to make a commitment to invest in their own future by graduating with the demonstrated ability, determination, character, resource, and plan to be successful in both post-secondary education and in the responsibilities and opportunities of adult life.

Criteria

  • Graduating Senior of Canyon Springs High School

  • Completed application

  • Demonstrated consistent academic achievement at Canyon Springs High School in the immediately preceding two (2) semesters or equivalent four (4) blocks of study

  • Demonstrated Community Service

  • High attendance at Canyon Springs High School

  • Absence of discipline issues throughout enrollment at Canyon Springs High School [Applicants will be required to consent to the obtaining of the subject information on discipline from the student information system which will be required to be provided. Discipline matters will be considered under this criteria for both number and type of incidences]

  • Applicants shall complete a 500 word essay referencing their educational goals and plans for the future

  • Applicant shall also complete an additional 500 word essay which identifies their plan to pay for the education they identified in the other essay under educational goals

  • Applicant must have completed the [Free Application for Federal Student Aid] FAFSA

  • Applicant must provide consent to review LUMENS or other Student Information System

  • Applicant must submit Transcript, ACT/SAT scores

  • Applicant must submit four (4) letters of recommendation including: 1 -Employer or supervisor [may include volunteer supervisor], 1 -School Employee, 1 -Personal recommendation focusing on character, 1 -Parent or guardian or family member which focuses on applicant's plans.
