Deken S. “Deke” Marmon Community Service Scholarship Fund
Background
Deken “Deke” Scott Marmon was a graduate from Caldwell High School in 2009. He served on the City of Caldwell Mayor’s Youth Advisory Council and attended Boy’s State. After graduating from High School, Deke joined the Army and served in Afghanistan, where he was injured by an improvised explosive device (IED). Deke received two Army Achievement Medals: an Army Commendation Medal, and a Combat Infantry Badge. Deke ws an expert rifleman. More importantly, Deke added to his family by gaining several trued brothers during his Army Career. Upon returning home, Deke attended the College of Western Idaho in hopes of obtaining a Business Management degree. Deke loved fishing, hunting, and golfing. Deke was very active in the community serving as the Chaplin for both the American Legion and the VFW. Deke served as the Trustee Chairman for the Elks Lodge until his death in 2018. Deke was passionate about his family, his country, his friends, God, and his community.
