West Valley Medical Staff Scholarship

Background

The Medical Staff of West Valley Medical Center is a diverse group of primary care and specialty physicians committed to delivering outstanding quality healthcare to our community. Our staff of over 200 physicians is multicultural with educational backgrounds that represent a broad range of universities, medical schools, residencies and fellowship programs. Our passion for service to community translates into a natural, related desire to promote ongoing education in this field. Therefore, we are establishing this fund as a means to help enable the advancement of the next generation of health care professionals. We expect the West Valley Medical Staff Scholarship winner to share our devotion to lifelong learning, dedication to patient care, and service to community.

Criteria

  • **Graduating Senior of CHS in Top 25th Class Rank. ** GPA 3.8 or above. **Completed Application. ** Must be admitted to a four-year college or university seeking a BS or BA degreee with a plan to puruse a career in healthcare.

  • **Completed 500 word essay: "The Art and Science of Healthcare: Why I want to spend my life in the healing arts". **A list of extracurricular activities and volunteer service.

  • **Two letters of recommendation: one from high school teacher or counselor, one personal recommendation.

  • **Transcript ** ACT and/or SAT scores
