In 200 words or less please explain why you are choosing this major/specialty

I am choosing this major and specialty because its something I have always found interesting especially real estate. I have enjoyed seeing and shadowing others who are in the industry and their way of speaking to people in such a unique way that helps the buyer understand and become fascinated. As for marketing I think there is so much that goes into it and the numerous opportunities that come from it and I think it would likely benefit me as a real estate agent and could be used in other aspects as well.

3. What is the most impactful experience that you have had as a participant in TRIO Upward Bound?

One of the most impactful experiences I have had while being a participant in the TRIO Upward Bound program isnt more so a thing or event but it has definitely been the personal growth I have had both charcasteristically and academically. I entered the program being such an avoidant and scared person I would never be seen speaking out or opening up to anyone. It wasnt until all the patience and guidance I had from Josh Engler, my TRIO specialist and the people showed me that there is such a bright future with millions of opportunities out there for me. That guidance and push helped me build the confidence to continue towards furthering my education in bigger ways than I'd imagined.

Other than financial, what is the biggest obstacle you face to completing college? What resources will you utilize to help you overcome this obstacle?

Other than financial the biggest obstacle I am currently facing to complete college is the fear of change and absence of having a dependant help me through life. I have always been scared of change and the overall impact itll have on me as a person and my mental health but I more than ever now understand this is something big for me and my family and it's what I want and need for myself to grow into the person I wish to. I have a very large support system that I know I can rely on when the times are needed such as family, friends, and my TRIO specialist Josh Engler. All have contributed so much to this bigger step in my life and I know I can overcome the fears and doubts I have with their support.

They showed such interest and joy in seeing us and the other coaches and brought a warmth to my heart knowing our presence was being appreciated and wanted.

7. How do you plan to fund your post-secondary education? If you have worked during high school describe what you have done.

I have also applied for and done my FASFA form carefully and budgeted certain expenses that will be put upon me after graduation. I am also working on and applying towards scholarships as well such as the governors cup scholarship and the Kiwanis scholarship which is offered to Caldwell students.
